After a battery of tests and trials, we were able to develop a calculated protein timing system that we call Sustained Muscle Saturation Technology (SMST). How does SMST work?
Different proteins have different chemical compositions and different rates at which they can be assimilated by the body.

1. Rate of Absorption (RA), the rate at which each protein source releases its amino acids.
Each protein source has its own release rate.
2. Protein Digestibility Correct Amino Acid Score (PDCAAS).
This is a fairly recent evaluation method adopted by the FDA and FAO/WHO in 1993. This "best method" utilizes nitrogen absorption as well as amino acid profile as its basis of quality.
3. Amino Acid Profile each protein source has its own unique amino acid profile.
4. Biological Value (BV) is derived from the amount of Nitrogen absorbed over the amount of Nitrogen incorporated into the body.
This formula gives each protein source is BV.
This value is used to help determine the amount of protein absorbed from different protein sources.
5. Net Protein Utilization (NPU) was used to determine the ideal amount of essential amino acids.
6. Protein Efficiency Ratio (PER) - similar to PDCAAS.

This analysis led us to believe that no single existing natural protein source was ideal for utilizing these desired extended release anabolic effects.
